Prior to entering law school, Steven Phelps was a Certified Public Account with the firm of Arthur Anderson & Company. Following his admission to the Texas State Bar in 1992, he initially focused on business and financal matters, always with a powerful dedication to exceptional client service.
In 1995, Steven opened his own practice so that he could make his idea of outstanding client service a reality for the entire firm. Putting the client first stimulated strong growth that continues today. Steven responded to client needs by expanding the practice by bringing in like-minded associates with appropriate experience.
Mr. Phelps was admitted to the Texas State Bar in 1992. His early litigation practice was concentrated in the areas of business law, banking and financial services, real estate and labor law. In 1995, Mr. Phelps opened his own practice. Due to the needs of his clients, Mr. Phelps enlarged his practice to include the areas of estate planning and title services.
Paralegal Kimberly Reed began working for Phelps Law Firm in May 2012. Kimberly meets and corresponds with clients, files bankruptcy petitions and corresponds with the courts. She is an integral part of the Phelps Law Firm.
Kimberly graduated from El Centro Community College with an Associate’s Degree in Paralegal Studies in April of 2007. She currently attends school full time with aspirations of attending law school in the near future. In addition to working a full time job and taking care of her family at home, her free time is spent shopping and taking care of their puppy, Boss.
Dan Burnham began working for Steve Phelps with Stewart Title in 2008. Dan serves as Escrow Officer and Office Manager.
Dan received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business with a minor in Real Estate studies from Dallas Baptist University in 1989. He has been in the real estate industry for over 25 years and has worked for several Fortune 500 companies.
Paralegal Christy Maddox began working with Phelps Law Firm as an Escrow Officer in the DeSoto office and is responsible for numerous tasks, including preparing legal documents for closings, managing the office, and providing excellent customer care for clients.
Christy is a graduate of Midlothian High School and received her Paralegal License in 2006. She has three children and enjoys attending their many activities. When Christy has free time, she enjoys reading spiritual books and spending time with friends.
Nancy Guerrero has been working with the Phelps Law Firm since late 2011. She assists Branch Manager Dan Burnham and Escrow Officer Christy Maddox with title closing, home warranties and payoffs, and daily file and survey processing.
Nancy is fluent in English and Spanish.
