What to Expect at your Free Consultation

When you come in for your consultation, you meet with me, not another attorney or a paralegal. You should plan to be here for an hour or so.  If you are in a hurry, please be sure to let us know when you arrive or before you come in.

If at all possible, I would like to send you a questionnaire which lists documents that we would like for you to bring, such as a list of your debts, bills, paystubs and legal documents relating to any lawsuit, foreclosure or repossession.  I will review these items with you during our meeting.

Once I get the information, I will analyze your situation and advise you of your legal options.  Your conference will often cover non-bankruptcy collection law, debt settlement and lawsuits. You will learn what property is protected from your creditors in or out of bankruptcy. I will also explain the difference between Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcies, and when you should (or shouldn't) file them.

Then, I will give you my recommendation for your situation to help you make your decision.  We will look for the best solution given your unique circumstances.

Finally, I am there to answer any questions you may have.  I want to be a resource for you and help you through these rough times.
